This is an ongoing project for The Mead Group.
Manderwood Timber Engineering was approached to
engineer, design, and manufacture a floor system for
approximately one third of the building to create a first
floor within the structure. Using the Easi-Joist Metal Web
floor system, this allowed for a simple yet very economic
solution to create a floor of this size. The final engineered
design was produced from Steel layout drawings and
dimensions checked on site. However, to allow for
dimensional differences, the Easi-Joists have been
designed to allow trimming on site if needed. The
advantages of the Easi-Joist floor system enabled
this particular project to span between the steels
without the need for additional internal load-bearing
supports. This in turn required the fabrication of 235 joists
from our depot in Highbridge, Somerset.
